Moving Forward in the New Year

Quick Tips to Jump-Start the Next Decade of Progress!

By Gary Stotler, Member Coach

Put the barrier of entry high enough to make a difference, but low enough to get started. Once you realize how to start moving forward toward your goals, you will naturally build your actions in accordance to your newfound self-confidence.

1. Take a look at where you are today. Although you might not be where you want to be, you are where you are. So what do you do now? Just Start! If you continue to stay stagnate, you will never begin moving forward which will guarantee you won’t reach your goals. Start where you are and work to where you want to GO!

2. Simplify the process to one or two positive actions. This might be adding one more day at the club. It could be going to a new virtual class. What about trying a new Tribe workout? With so many offerings throughout the club, trying something new is just one step away. You never know, it could be the most important step you take in 2020!

3. Keep Moving Forward. There are days you will oversleep or forget your workout clothes. Other days, life happens and forces you to miss your workout. You are human. One missed day won’t derail your progress IF you take the step forward the following day. I have used a basic rule for the several years and it has taken me over mountains of adversity and through valleys of setbacks. “Don’t miss two days in a row!” With enough patience and persistence, creating and improving a routine can change your life

It’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy of quick fixes, fad diets and New Year Resolutions, but if you want to make a change for longer than a month, focus on where you are and put in the daily work needed to move toward your goals. If you are overwhelmed and struggling with where to start, please check out our complimentary JUST START!  class or schedule a time for us to get together.
