Ann began working for GATC in 1986. She has a B.S. from the University of Colorado and started teaching Pilates in 2002, with a certification through Polestar Education and a comprehensive certification through the Peak Pilates System. As an elite runner, Ann immediately recognized the benefits of Pilates as the ultimate cross-training tool to improve performance and avoid injury. Ann is passionate about teaching Pilates and educating people about their bodies.
Ann is a certified Restorative Exercise™ practitioner, an alignment-based, movement program developed by biomechanist Katy Bowman, MS. Appling the principles of physics, geometry, and engineering, these corrective exercises and stretches bring the body into alignment, restoring optimal length to muscles and acquiring new motor skills. Using objective alignment markers to bring the body back to its optimal health and function, as well as understanding the importance of skeletal alignment, brings with it many benefits which result in a pain-free life, fully connecting with our bodies. Benefits include reducing joint wear and tear and improving circulation of lymph within a body, bone signaling and stronger bones, pelvic floor function, digestion, ability to breathe, and overall well-being.
